Spokes
Our Spokes are the software solutions that reside on devices and networks and that provide the CEP with the information that is required to understand the Events that are of interest on those devices and networks.
While we have developed some of the Spoke solutions ourselves, the majority of the Spokes are supplied by partner organisations that specialise in monitoring specific types of device or event.
Our policy is to partner with the “best of breed” Spoke technology providers in any given area of specialisation to provide information about an event (e.g a video call, or a patient who has just fallen over and has a heart rate problem). This means that we can offer customers the best possible information about the Events that they are interested in.
However, we are “vendor agnostic” so if customers already have tools or monitoring technologies that give them part of the picture that they are interested in, we are able to integrate their solutions as Spokes into the CEP and supplement them with information from relevant Spokes that we can supply.
Today we can supply Spoke solutions that cover a wide range of subjects, including the following:
- Video Quality – mobile and fixed solutions such as web conferencing and IPTV.
- Voice Quality – VoIP (fixed and mobile).
- Servers – Virtual and real, capacity, performance, software metering, security, server consolidation, database optimisation.
- PC/laptop – fixed and mobile, performance, capacity, software metering, security.
- Customer Access – Access devices, WiFi, bandwidth, QoS, QoE by application.
- Customer LANs – Topology, device discovery, bandwith, VoIP QoE planning.
- Service Provider WANs – network device management and analytics.
- Telco IMS – monitoring of every IMS element.
- Mobile Phones – asset management, provisioning, tracking, remote access, security.
- Mobile Health – a range of monitoring devices providing data about a person’s well being.
- M2M – an ever growing catalogue of M2M devices including location systems and utility metering.
As many different types of Spoke as may be required can be connected to the CEP to build a comprehensive end-to-end picture of an Event using data from every significant device/network element that is responsible for some aspect of processing that Event.
Where customers have their own Spoke solutions, we can generally integrate these into CEP in less than a month.
